Services

At GKN Additive (Forecast 3D), we offer a multitude of Additive Manufacturing (AM) services. To learn more about each of our technologies and material offerings, please click on the photos below.

HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF)

Unique to other 3D printing technologies, HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) prints a new layer of material atop a layer that is molten, allowing the part to fuse completely. Our manufacturing centers house 36 MJF printers on-site with the capacity to produce hundreds of thousands of parts each week. Paired with our expertise, this technology will allow you to speed up development and get your product to market faster.

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM)

Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is an AM process that fuses material layers, creating a strong, detailed product. FDM is ideal for both rapid prototyping and production. With design flexibility and a wide variety of materials, FDM is capable of making your designs a reality.

Metal Laser Sintering

Metal Laser Sintering (which includes DMLS and SLM) is a common AM technology. In this process, each layer of a part is created by a targeted laser that fuses material on a powder bed. The laser follows the points of a CAD design, creating high-quality components. Ideal for functional pieces requiring fast lead times, Metal Laser Sintering is available in Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and more.

Stereolithography (SLA)

Stereolithography (SLA) is one of the original 3D printing processes. Using a UV laser that cures each layer one at a time, SLA technology creates the most complex, detailed parts. Widely regarded as one of the most accurate of the additive technologies, SLA 3D printing is famous for producing optically clear and aesthetic elements.

Polyjet

Polyjet, similar to an inkjet printer, jets layers of liquid photopolymer that instantly cures with UV lights attached to the print heads. This speedy process creates fine layers for a high-resolution product. Polyjet 3D printing rapidly produces parts with astonishingly fine detail, smooth surfaces, and precision. This technology works with a vast array of materials in a variety of vibrant colors, creating show-ready pieces.

Metal Binder Jetting (MBJ)

The binder jetting 3D-printing process for metal parts yields extremely high build rates, with a scaling potential that harnesses GKN Powder Metallurgy’s experience in the sintering of high-performance, metal parts and products for mass production, which dates back to when its first sinter metal plant opened in Bonn, Germany, in the 1930s.

ProCAST Production Tooling

ProCAST Production Tooling (formerly known as Hybrid RTV Tooling or RTV Urethane Casting) combines the precision and accuracy of a CNC-machined master pattern with the repeatability of our nationally renowned urethane casting process. With ProCAST, high-quality features are incorporated with color and textures cast in, avoiding the pitfalls of the scratches and adhesion issues that often plague painted parts. This combination offers a manufacturing solution for short-run products when time constraints are a factor.
