The Hybrid Difference
Tolerances
Hybrid Tooling achieves tolerances of +/- .0015" inch per inch after the first inch in every axes in most cases. By doing this, Forecast3D is the only company in the RP&M industry offering tolerances this accurate for parts made from an RTV mold.
No tooling or pattern NRE
Unlike other processes, Hybrid Tooling doesn’t require a pattern to make the cavity for your mold. This saves our customers the expense of having to pay for multiple master pattern parts typically needed to make new cavities. Out tools are permanent mold bases so your expense is only for the number of parts you want out of each mold. We service and store them for you for as long as you need.
Geometric Accuracy
In addition to having the best tolerances in the industry, parts from these tools are also straighter and flatter compared to traditional RTV cast processes. Because we don’t rely on a master pattern, which is subjected to heat, our cavities maintain their shape, resulting in parts very close to as accurate as what you can expect from Injection Molding or thermo, pressure, or vacuum forming. And what’s more is that we do all this without annoying voids and pits in your parts.
Freedom of design
When designing for this technology, we welcome bosses, ribbing, and draft. This key feature allows our end users to design for injection molding. And this translates into cost savings since it also allows our customers the flexibility of avoiding vacuum or pressure forming where ribs and bosses are an expensive post process.
Revision allowables
In addition to the other benefits of this technology, revisions or “tweaks” can also be added to the list. Specific parts or even entire sections can be recreated to the process and at a minimal cost.
Cost Savings
Compared to tradition tooling, Hybrid Tooling is a fraction of the cost, and is a real permanent solution for low-volume manufacturing needs.
