Key features to this technology are:
- Ability to maintain tolerances of +/-0.001"/inch
- 200W Yb-fibre laser
- Machine build envelope is 9.85” x 9.85" x 7"
- Finished parts are made from pure material and are fully dense
- Material particle size is 20 microns
- Parts in as little as three days
As future metals are in development, through Directed MFG, the sister company Forecast3D, we are currently practicing AS9100 standards to additive metal manufacturing using DMLS for both medical and aerospace applications. This has lead to the implementation of a broader and more diverse and educated staff of team members who are perfecting their expertise and understanding of the process and materials. Currently, our technicians are skilled at operating and maintaining our machines, and are the most experienced operators in the Western U.S.
Future materials
Future commercially available materials include Ti6Al4V, TiCP/Pure Titanium, Hastalloy, and Inconel. Please contact us for status regarding their release dates.
Finishing Options
The following two finish options are available in any of the three DMLS materials we run:
- Standard finish includes wire EDM and shot peening (PHOTO)
- Premium finish includes wire EDM, shot peening, 32 Ra micro inch and polishing (PHOTO)
